Cowboys and Aliens (Jon Favreau, 2011) Daniel Craig, Abigail Spencer, Harrison Ford; A spaceship arrives in Arizona, 1873, to take over the Earth, starting with the Wild West region. A posse of cowboys and natives are all that stand in their way.
The title says it all, really, like Snakes on a Plane. So I’ll just quote Umberto Eco (actually on the subject of Casablanca).
Two clichés make us laugh but a hundred clichés move us because we sense dimly that the clichés are talking among themselves, celebrating a reunion.
But what was Harrison Ford thinking? Alimony? And Daniel Craig? Prolly something to do with money, anyway. There was a lot of it about.

... as the first of undoubtedly a bunch of copycat genre mashups, some of which are bound to be horrendous, Cowboys & Aliens is a solid success. ... [it] ... devotes a gratifying amount of time to character and achieves most of its success because Favreau has intelligently cast his film and let his actors do their thing.
