Downton Abbey: A New Era (Simon Curtis, 2022) usual cast
I suppose there was still a buck to be made from a few more gasps of life from this almost-dead body. It's made work for a large number of people, none less than Julian Fellowes. When I first saw him as the neighbouring laird in Monarch of the Glen, I little thought that he would become a most accomplished and successful (Oscar!) scriptwriter. I just love that Julian Alexander Kitchener-Fellowes, Baron Fellowes of West Stafford is someone in the theatre and a conservative peer in the House of Lords (another moribund body, one hopes). However, despite another attempt to kill Maggie Smith (but she works! on, at 88), she is still alive – and perhaps Downton Abbey will live yet again.
... Another film about the coming of sound (to cinema). Not as good as Singin' in the Rain (nothing is) but better than Babylon.
